OCEANA BEACH & WILDLIFE RESERVE

SHAMWARI GAME RESERVE
On safari in a malaria free area, close to Port Elizabeth. Shamwari Private Game Reserve is home to the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) and winner of numerous international rewards. This 25 000 ha game reserve, situated along the Bushmans River,  boasts five ecosystems, thus enabling to support many plants and animals.

Shamwari offers a special “Kids on Safari” programme where kids aged 4 and older have a chance of a lifetime to view the Big 5, view a special educational film and visit the Born Free Foundation and Shamwari Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Guests have a choice of accommodation in seven small exclusive lodges. At each of the lodges guests are taken on a twice daily game drive on open safari vehicles.

Eagle Crag Lodge
Each of the nine superior rooms provides the guest with a maximum of privacy in a tranquil setting. Each room has a private deck with pool and indoor and outdoor showers. Two sides of the room are glass doors to provide an astonishing view on the surroundings. The central building includes a dining room, lounge, bar and library. The luxury spa offers a wide variety of treatments.

Lobengula Lodge
This lodge is tucked away in the valley and offer guests an exclusive safari getaway. The lodge provides accommodation in five luxury suites of which two have their own private plunge pools.  Depending on the weather the excellent dinner is served either in the boma under the African sky or on the main deck or in the dining room. 

Long Lee Manor
The old manor house of Long Lee Manor was built in 1910 and offers a colonial experience. Long Lee Manor accommodates 38 guests in 15 elegant en-suite rooms and 3 luxury suites. Meals are enjoyed in the main dining room, under the Pepper Tree or around the open fire at the Barn. A river boma offers an outdoor option for meals.

 
Riverdene Lodge
The colonial-style, Riverdene Lodge is suitable for the whole family. All nine inter-leading luxury rooms are fully air-conditioned and are equipped with television, telephone and a small lounge. The private balconies give guest a view over the landscaped gardens. The lodge has a jungle gym and a supervised playroom for the children. A rim flow swimming pool provides welcome relaxing after a game drive.  Meals are served in the dining room or in the stone boma overlooking the Bushmans River.

Bushmans River Lodge
Bushmans River Lodge is an ideal family lodge. The 4-bedroom Victorian homestead offers an intimate atmosphere and is ideal for small groups or a family.  Dining is varied between the dining room, the verandah, which is adjacent to the pool, or the stunning boma under thatch overlooking the Bushmans River. 

Bayethe Tented Lodge
Bayethe is a splendid stone walled and thatch roofed lodge with a large deck area overlooking a waterhole. The 9 luxury tents are camouflaged under trees allowing for ample privacy and unsurpassed comforts. Each tent is air-conditioned and heated and has an en-suite bathroom, shower, private plunge pool and viewing deck.  The 3 premier tents at Bayethe Hills are the ultimate in tented luxury.  These tents offer the additional luxuries of a fireplace, satellite TV, plunge pool and hammocks suspended out of the wooden decks.

Sarili lodge
Sarili Lodge is a new luxury lodge exclusively for families. The lodge is an old traditional farmhouse and consists of five suites and can sleep a maximum of ten guests. The lodge features a child friendly swimming pool, dining and lounge areas, courtyard barbeque area and special children’s menu. 

RIVER BEND LODGE
Situated on boundless horizons, flanked by the spectacular Zuurberg Mountains, River Bend Lodge is situated within a 17 000 hectare private concession area of the Addo Elephant National Park, in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. With a small number of rooms, the emphasis at River Bend Lodge is on understated luxury. Rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, are individually decorated and are a combination of old-fashioned luxury and modern convenience. All rooms have private verandahs and views over the valley.
